First and foremost I’d like to express my utmost gratitude to my long time friend, confidant, and arbiter of goodwill Patrick for his thoughtfulness and consideration. Without his friendship, my life would be less fun.
With that being said, I happy share with my reading public that I’ll be embarking on a photo related trip of a lifetime. I’ve been asked to help photographically document the daily lives of the people of three Chinese Townships/Villages. Without getting into too many details, my photos will serve as a record to document the ways of life before some significant infrastructure improvements are made. I’m so honored to be asked to be a part of this process.
I’m ecstatic to say I’ll be visiting and photographing Xi’an, Suzhou, and Nanjing. This trip to China will be the realization of one of my most treasured photographic dream/goals. I’ve always wanted to explore some of the more remote areas of a region and spend some quiet non touristy time relating to the natives with my camera. I want to have no other agenda but to create visual footnotes of how I relate to these people and perhaps document some sort of shared commonalities. This will be my anthropological adventure with my camera.
I also look forward to shooting my version of Steve McCurry’s Afghan Girl, Chinese villager style (wipes drool off face).

Seeing how I’ll already be in Asia, I’ll be doubling down and swinging by Siem Reap, Cambodia and scratch off a bucket list item and spend some quality photo time with some Angkor Wat-ing Temples. Again, my level of excitement is hard to quantify. It feels a bit surreal to me just thinking about this trip and all the different things I'll be seeing. I just hope the weather and tourist conditions are ideal. I’m a bit leery about heading out there alone with all my gear but an adventure is an adventure. I’ll just coordinate with Pat and check in with him from time to time.
In addition, the second part of my double downing will be a trip to Seoul, Korea to visit my junior high school friend. Although not as earth shattering (in my photography centric world) as shooting a location on my bucket list, I’m excited to spend some quality time with one of my best closest friends. Along with some urban city shooting, I look forward to exploring the city. I also look forward to gaining some serious weight as I explore Korea with Ken. I will feel young again during my romp through Korea with my long time buddy.

I couldn’t wait any longer. I visited the Apple store. I welcome myself to 2011 (snorts). I wanted to get some part of the learning curve over with before heading out to Asia with this badboy. I’m not looking forward to learning a new OS but it is a must do activity. I am, however, looking forward to owning some of the best looking lines in computer product design.
There’s still so much to do and buy before the trip. I also purchased a multi platform version of Adobe Lightroom 4.0 for both the home PC and this Mac. I hope the learning curve for Lightroom 4.0 won’t be as steep. I’ll have to also visit the Photomatix site for some Mac OS software.
Some visual candy for myself. Jack Spade is having a two day sale going on. I couldn't help myself.
Something to house the machine that houses my photos. I intend on purchasing a Macbook Pro soon. I love pre-purchasing housing.
I complained about my crappy hideous work space a couple of days ago. Things are going well in that improvement process. I refuse to show photos though.
I thought I would enjoy an upgrade in computer bags. I love the modern casual look of this bag. As a whole, I love bags. What can I say?

Summary: Returned the GTX 570 and bought two GTX 480s for a C note more. Same amount of Cudo cores and more geek street cred. I'm happy.
As posted a few days ago…
I finally did it. Let me repeat myself, I finally did it. I like to point out to my reading public that exercising really does clear the mind. I feel so much more livid with all this recent exercise. Or maybe it is the very crisp cold air or maybe the jaunt to Yosemite helped me out. Anyhow, life ain't bad for me lately but I digress. I finally made put my foot down and made a firm decision on a video card. About fricking time if you ask me but please don't ask me, it is a sore topic.

Happens to me every time. I buy something; put that endeavor to rest and something better pops up. Phucking Murphy’s Law. Wait, who is this Murphy person. Why was a law named after him/her? Does Murphy’s powers rival those of any of the more mainstream or even lesser stream deities? I would like to know how Murphy stack up to Zeus in a cage match (que South Park eqisode)? But I digress.
I think I should just fake date a girl and hope that a better option pops up immediately. I love trying to game fate, Murphy’s Law, or whatever other energy the Universe is currently operating on. (Wait, did I write that out loud?) I just digressed more. Argh. Focus please.
Tigerdirect.com has/had the eVGA GeForce GTX 480 on promotional pricing. For roughly an extra C Note, I ditched the singular video card setup and further establish my geek street credibility by opting for a two card setup. Kinda of dumb considering I don’t really game but I really want to run two video cards. I live to for geek street cred! I even purchased a larger power source in anticipation of running two GPUs. Also, I was able to cancel my GTX 570 order from Amazon. The great thing about doing budget/free shipping from Amazon is that they lag on your order for a few days. I was able to cancel without any issues. Sweet.
Time to Little Wayne my computer tower and Tat the heck out of it?
