After driving for six plus hours, I accidentally found this spot. Besides my friend's knowledge of the Mammoth Lakes area, I was pretty much clueless as to what I wanted to photograph or where to go. My friend's first suggestion was to drive up to almost Lee Vining to where the Mobil station is on 395 and shoot the underlying valleys and lake. Although the spot had a wonderful vantage point, there were a few too many distracting objects. The spot did lead me to discover the eventual spot of where I took this photograph.

The shot I got on Friday morning was ten times better than the shot I got the following day. At times, pictures are truly a once in a life time experience.
